Pastor Ed Peterson

Greetings!

Although I may be senior pastor of the church, I think of myself as a regular guy that God called into ministry. In my “previous life,” I worked as an engineer for commercial heating and air conditioning companies in the Cleveland/Akron area. That part of my life, in which I was the person “sitting in the pew,” gives me a unique perspective into the lives of the people I serve as pastor. I know what it is like to lose a job, to struggle to make a mortgage, to face all of the problems that people in the “real world” face. It is those issues that we explore together each week in the church.

Cindy and I are approaching our 25th wedding anniversary in a couple of years, and have three children.  Jon served two deployments in Iraq with the Marines and is now going to college on the GI Bill.  Joe graduated from high school in 2008 and is a college freshman.  Amanda is still at home and is a freshman in high school.  While I am passionate about serving as a pastor, the greatest joy of my life is to serve as a husband and father. I enjoy trying to remain healthy in body, mind and spirit.  On a nice day, you’ll see me walking through town.  On a not-so-nice day, you’ll find me inside at the YMCA.  I also enjoy reading biographies and American history.  Lake Erie has been a love of my life since I was a child.  There is something about seeing an endless horizon that draws me nearer to God.

I believe that God is active in our lives, moving and working and creating.  We have a God who is with us in the events of our lives; laughing in our celebrations, and crying in our heartbreaks.  Because our God is real and alive, we live a life of faith that is real and alive.  And through it all, we are…

Still in One Peace,
Ed
